The LINCOLN ROADSHOW
Commemorating the 160th Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

The Hancock County Historical Society is sponsoring a discussion which includes the Lincoln Funeral Train and route taken as it passed through central Indiana.   This included passing by the Greenfield Depot on April 30th of 1865.  The train passed the Depot “decorated with mourning badges and the mood was solemn and somber”.

Chris Allen, Lincoln Scholar, of the Lincoln Special Project will be the presenter in Greenfield on November 11th, at 11 AM.  This is a free event open to anyone.  A question/answer session will also be held during this discussion.

The Hancock County Historical Society is hosting this program in their 1853 Chapel located in Greenfield’s historic Riley Park.  For information about other HCHS exhibits and events, visit hancockhistory.org or call 317-462-7780.

The Hancock County Historical Society is a 501C3 non-profit located in Greenfield, IN.  We are the repository for all things Hancock Co. history.   Mission:  To collect, preserve
and interpret the history of Hancock County Indiana.”
